IT TAKES MORE THAN A LITTLE DEATH TO STOP THIS FAMILY....

Sometimes my children's late father makes himself known to us. It appears this has happened recently. I don't know why, but it appears that he's been closer to many of us individually and therefore collectively as a family, of late. Whether it's through dreams, or through a particular song, or people who knew him show up to share a story and a laugh (or a tear) or a photograph arrives in the mail; however it happens-thoughts and feelings about Don arise and circulate and we laugh and cry and talk about him. These times lead me to believe that he is still a part of our family; that families are indeed eternal; that the atonement works; that life goes on beyond here; that the role of parenting doesn't stop with death and that partnerships continue in love and concern for children. We are whole...and we are grateful.

I love this post. How can such a strong soul REALLY be gone...he's not, is he?

So ture...Aunt Mary went to heaven today. All I can think about is the years of good memories, Christmas days, and her waving to us outside her house until our car was out of site. Her smile and how she always said "Golly Geez"..and when she said "I love you" se really meant it. You are right about families Deb.

@Linda: amen and amen. I just received in the mail picture of Don with the boys that was taken just a few weeks before his death. It took my breath away. Em and I cried when we opened it.

@Michelle: Nope. He's not gone, honey. He's just being a Dad from the other side-and a better one, at that.

@Cindy: Honey, I'm so very very sorry. I woke up this morning actually thinking I should call you to get her address! Isn't that crazy...I thought of her this very morning. The world lost someone special. She was a dear. And she still is!!! How's Uncle Joe? Can you email me his address. You may have done that once, but I'd like to send him a card. Thanks kiddo...love you so much.

I miss him. He loved fiercely. And everyone is still being blessed by that. And you are right, he's still around.
