i can never remember quotes. i think that's a a deficiency in me. i think all educated people should be able to roll off a quote or two at moment's notice. even if you don't agree with the quote, being able to say it just sounds so SMART, you know? so BRITISH or something.
That's funny, about the British thing. When I was a much younger mother, I asked the kids what "voice" they read in. I thought it was a perfectly legitimate question because my "reading" voice was a British male. They looked at me (at first) like I was nuts, but then they relaxed a bit and confessed that at times, they also used "voices", depending on the reading material...sounds like a "formal blog entry"....hmmmmm
