MY MOTHER'S DRESSER
I have been fascinated by my mother's dresser since forever. I was always fascinated with my dad's chest-of-drawers as well...I believe I posted about that previously....that was a great adventure...
My mother's dresser was always fun. It always smelled good...it always had sparkly stuff (dad was jeweler, after all), and I felt it was a capsized rendering of who mom was at any given moment. On the top of the dresser was her current jewelery-what was in vogue....in the drawers were her pretty slips and nighties....and in the bottom drawer she kept our school work....little drawings and things we had written...which was nice.
I still like to visit Mom's dresser...and I'm an old lady myself....but that dresser still holds a fascination for me....it's still current regarding Mom....her jewelery...her interests...now it holds her music du jour....there's no more school work in the bottom drawer, alas....but it's become a bit more sentimental....a little softer....a time or two ago when I was visiting, I decided to snap a picture...'cause that's what I do....just to have a reminder....Mom's dresser....

how sweet. how utterly sweet.
lucky you. :)
I wonder what Olivia will find fascinating....cause you know, she'll find something....
I love grandma's dresser, too! Last time I was there, Mae and I sat on the floor together and went through her jewelry together - like two kids on Christmas! It was so fun and sentimental for me.
probably my crooked hair!
Em: I'm so pleased that you and Mae could do that and I KNOW that Wendy likes it...you should do it when she's lying on the bed so she can watch you...or do WITH her...she would love that even more...she loves to be included now...
Nancy...HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHA....no.....she may find enchantment in your kitchen...or your closet...or...okay...your hairbrushes...sure, why not....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Wait..why did that say Peter?...it's me, Debbie....oh...let's pretend that WAS Peter...that would make it even sillier sounding...yea....Peter said that last thing....HAHAHAHHAHAH
debbie's back
i know....that kind of freaked me out. Just doesn't seem like the Peter I picture, but then, I don't know him.
I thought, "wow"...."that guy must really know his mom-in-law"!
I'm trying to picture Peter 1) reading ANY blog and 2) COMMENTING on one...HAHAHAHAHAHAHHHA
