In honor of Labor Day and the labor force and all that has transpired in this country for the betterment (word?) of the community and family, I found a quote from Paulo Coelho (Brazilian novelist born 1947), that I felt was rather poignant regarding the struggle between unions/nonunion/equal pay for equal work/the whole shebang...everything that is the American workplace...it is this:
"There is suffering in life, and there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it's better to lose some of the battles in the struggles for your dreams than to be defeated without ever knowing what you're fighting for."
here, here...can I get a witness?
